The Fourth International Symposium on Digital Heritage (ISDH), entitled “Cultural Heritage as Data: Data-driven Approach to Advancing Digital Methods for Cultural Heritage Conservation, Management, and Utilization,” will be held November 23–24, 2023, in Daejeon, Republic of Korea, by CHA in close cooperation with the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST. This symposium is part of a series of annual symposiums on digital heritage established by CHA in 2019. Its objectives are as follows: 1) explore the path for the achievement of data-driven heritage conservation, management, and utilization by discussing current methodologies and innovative practices in the heritage domain, and 2) raise public awareness and develop an understanding of the role of data in the digital heritage domain, which can contribute to stimulating the curiosity and interest of future generations to expand their engagement in the field of cultural heritage. In particular, this year’s symposium is aligned with the main theme of the CIPA International Symposium notably "Cultural Heritage Preservation from Bits”, which will be jointly organized by KAIST and CHA in 2025, and will share knowledge, experiences, and vision on the importance of data-driven cultural heritage. The symposium will offer simultaneous interpretation in both English and Korean.
